Kwara Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Arrest Suspect

On July 15, 2026, Shekinat Mukaila, a 26-year-old woman, was abducted by armed hoodlums during an attack on Wande Community in the Ora Kingdom of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State. Her father, the Baale of Wande, was injured while trying to resist the attackers.

Following the incident, the Kwara State Police Command, led by Commissioner Ojo Adekimi, activated tactical and intelligence assets to secure the area and initiate an investigation. The injured Baale was taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

The investigation led to the arrest of Aliyu Mohammed, who is alleged to have facilitated the kidnappers' activities. The police successfully rescued Mukaila without injuries and are continuing efforts to apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate.

Adekimi urged the public to provide timely information to aid in the fight against crime.
