Police Rescue Woman and Son from Kwara Forest Hideout

On Saturday, the Nigeria Police Force, through its Intelligence Response Team (IRT) and local security support groups, conducted a tactical operation in a forest in Kwara State. This operation was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding the location of Adijat Kuburat, 43, and her 2-year-old son, Abdul Malik Hamzat, who had been kidnapped.

Upon sighting the police, the kidnappers opened fire but were met with a swift tactical response from the police, forcing them to flee deeper into the forest. The operation successfully led to the rescue of the victims, who were subsequently taken to a medical facility for appropriate treatment and care.

CSP Anieti Iniedu, the Force Public Relations Officer, noted that efforts would be intensified to apprehend the fleeing suspects and dismantle the criminal network responsible for the abduction. IGP Olatunji Disu commended the professionalism and gallantry of the officers involved in the rescue operation.
