Kwara Police Seek More Resources to Combat Crime

The Kwara State Police Command, led by Commissioner Ojo Adekimi, has called for more operational vehicles, including Armoured Personnel Carriers, communication and surveillance equipment, and additional manpower to strengthen its crime-fighting capacity. This request was made on Thursday during an operational inspection by Assistant Inspector-General of Police Betty Otimenyin at the command in Ilorin.

Adekimi presented the command’s security and operational outlook, highlighting the need for further intervention in critical areas such as manpower and equipment. He noted ongoing efforts in intelligence-led policing and personnel training to enhance officers' effectiveness.

Adekimi acknowledged the support from the Kwara State Government but stressed that additional resources are necessary to consolidate operational gains. AIG Otimenyin commended the command's preparedness and emphasized that improved operational capacity should lead to safer communities and better treatment of citizens, urging officers to maintain professionalism and accountability.
