Kwara Police Launch 'Operation Velvet' for Traffic Enforcement

The Kwara State Police Command initiated 'Operation Velvet' on Tuesday to enforce traffic laws and reduce violations by motorists in Kwara State. This operation is under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Ojo Adekimi and aligns with directives from Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu.

The initiative is a continuous enforcement exercise focused on ensuring strict adherence to traffic regulations, promoting responsible driving, and enhancing road safety. The police emphasized that motorists must possess valid vehicle registration and other necessary documents to operate on the roads.

They warned that any motorist found violating traffic laws or lacking the required legal documentation would face appropriate sanctions as per existing laws. The police urged cooperation from motorists and road users with enforcement personnel and reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and public order while ensuring safer roads for all.
