Nigeria Police Suspend Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement Amid Court Order

The Nigeria Police Force has halted the enforcement of tinted glass permit regulations following an interim court order issued on December 17, 2025. The suspension, effective from January 2, 2026, is due to public safety and national security concerns.

The court order restrains the police from enforcing the policy pending a final determination in the legal proceedings. Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, reaffirmed the police's commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting lives and property.

The matter is set to be heard further on January 20, 2026.
