Shettima to Condole Tukur's Family Amid Tight Security

Vice President Kashim Shettima is scheduled to visit Adamawa State on Thursday to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late elder statesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who passed away last Saturday and was buried on Sunday in Yola. In preparation for Shettima's visit, the Adamawa State Police Command has increased security measures by deploying personnel and specialized units throughout the state capital.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Nguroje stated that Commissioner of Police CP Kabir Umar Hassan ordered the deployment of operational assets to strategic locations. This includes personnel from the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Intelligence Unit, and Traffic Unit.

Traffic diversions and stop-and-search operations will be conducted in and around the state capital. The Commissioner has urged residents to cooperate with security personnel and warned against any attempts to disrupt the visit, assuring the public of the Command's commitment to maintaining peace and safety.
