Shettima Leads Federal Delegation to Honor Bamanga Tukur

On September 17, 2026, Vice President Kashim Shettima led a Federal Government delegation to Yola, Adamawa State, to convey President Bola Tinubu’s condolences to the family of the late Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who passed away at the age of 90. Shettima first visited the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Musdafa, to pay homage before proceeding to Tukur Lodge, the family residence, where he delivered the President's message.

In a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Shettima described Tukur as a distinguished Nigerian whose contributions to entrepreneurship, public service, and national development would be remembered. He encouraged the Tukur family to remain united and preserve their patriarch's legacy of peace and service.

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri was commended for his support to the bereaved family. Awwal Tukur, son of the deceased and Secretary to the Adamawa State Government, expressed gratitude to Tinubu, Shettima, and the Federal Government delegation for their support during this time.
