Shettima Honors Late PDP Leader Bamanga Tukur in Adamawa

Vice President Kashim Shettima visited Adamawa State on September 17 to console the people following the death of Bamanga Tukur, the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who died on September 12 in Abuja, just three days before his 91st birthday. Tukur was buried in Yola the following day.

During his visit, Shettima described Tukur as a man who lived an exemplary life and noted that his death should be seen as a celebration of life, given that he passed away surrounded by loved ones. Shettima emphasized that Nigeria would miss Tukur's wealth of wisdom and acknowledged his significant contributions as a former managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority and a successful business leader.

He also commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for supporting Tukur’s family during this time. Additionally, Shettima visited the Lamido of Adamawa Emirate, Muhammadu Barkindo Mustapha, who expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for their support.
