Kogi Police Train 565 Constables in Weapon Handling

The Kogi State Police Command successfully conducted a comprehensive training program in weapon handling and marksmanship for 565 constables, which commenced on April 13, 2026, and lasted for two months. This initiative aligns with the strategic vision of the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to strengthen the capacity of police personnel to effectively address contemporary security challenges and improve public safety.

During a recent parade at the command headquarters in Lokoja, Commissioner of Police Nazir Kankarofi commended the participants for their dedication, discipline, and commitment throughout the training period. The program was designed to equip officers with the requisite knowledge and practical skills for the safe handling and maintenance of firearms, instilling principles of professionalism, accountability, and respect for human rights.
