Yobe Police Uncover Illegal Gun Factory, Arrest Seven

On Monday, the Yobe State Police Command conducted a successful operation in Potiskum, leading to the discovery of an illegal gun factory and the arrest of seven suspects. The operation was carried out by the Potiskum Area Command in collaboration with the Division of Police Headquarters, following credible intelligence regarding illegal firearm manufacturing activities in the area.

The police recovered significant exhibits from the workshop, including two fabricated pistols, 24 muzzle pipes, nine gun butts, and four unserviceable dane guns, along with a file and a cutlass. The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing investigations to identify possible collaborators and buyers who intended to use the weapons.

The Commissioner of Police, Usman Kafani Jibrin, has ordered an expansion of the investigation to assess the security threat posed by these activities and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
