Soldiers Raid Illegal Gun Factory in Kebbi State

On Thursday, soldiers from the Joint Task Force, under Operation Fansan Yamma, conducted a raid on an illegal gun factory in Kebbi State, Northwest Nigeria. The operation was intelligence-led and resulted in the arrest of two suspects alleged to be involved in the production and supply of locally made firearms to terrorist groups operating in the state.

Aliyu Danja, spokesperson for the Joint Task Force, reported that the raid targeted a secluded compound used by the syndicate to evade security surveillance. During the operation, five locally fabricated AK-47 rifles were recovered.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing preliminary interrogation as investigations continue to identify other members of the syndicate and their financial collaborators. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics and curb the proliferation of illicit arms, dismantling criminal networks across the Northwest region of Nigeria.
