On Wednesday, during a sensitization meeting at Obalende Garage in Lagos State, AIG Mr. Olohundar Jimoh Moshood of the Nigeria Police Force directed officers to pay fares for commercial vehicles and warned against abuse of authority. He emphasized the need for a strong relationship between the police and the public, advocating for voluntary support rather than coercion. Moshood stated that no police officer has the right to enter a vehicle without paying and urged the public to report any harassment or misconduct. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining vehicle safety, cautioning against speeding, drunk driving, and substance abuse, which increase accident risks. Moshood reaffirmed the police's commitment to engaging with transport unions and stressed the need for discipline, patience, and compliance with traffic rules to build trust and enhance road safety in Lagos.
