Police Recover 245 Rustled Cattle in Kaduna Operation

On May 31, 2023, the Kaduna State Police Command, in collaboration with local vigilantes, successfully recovered a total of 245 cattle that had been rustled during a kidnapping attempt in Igabi Local Government Area. According to a statement issued by the police public relations officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, bandits invaded a Fulani settlement on the outskirts of Rubu Village, leading to the theft of a large number of cattle.

The incident was reported to the chairman of Miyetti Allah in Igabi Local Government Area, prompting the division police officer in Rigachikun to mobilize police operations alongside Miyetti Allah vigilante members and the civilian joint task force. The joint team pursued the suspects, applying pressure on the bandits, who ultimately abandoned the stolen cattle and fled into the bush.

As a result of the operation, 200 of the recovered cattle were unharmed, and efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects are ongoing.
