Kogi Security Forces Recover 1,000 Rustled Livestock

Security forces in Kogi State successfully recovered 1,000 rustled livestock as part of ongoing operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks within the region. The operations targeted remnants of a cattle rustling syndicate led by notorious bandit kingpin Kachalla Ibrahim Battijo.

The recovery included 200 livestock traced back to Battijo's criminal network, which had been attempting to move stolen cattle into Kogi State for sale to finance further criminal activities. A press statement issued on Saturday by Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, highlighted the success of the security forces, made possible through credible intelligence received from various security agencies.

The operations involved fierce gun battles with bandits, resulting in several criminals being neutralized while others fled with varying degrees of bullet wounds. The recovered livestock are currently secured in Kabba Bunu Local Government Area, with arrangements made for their prompt return to rightful owners.

The Kogi State government reiterated its commitment to sustaining operations against criminal elements to restore safety and confidence among the populace.
