Katsina Security Forces Recover 117 Rustled Livestock

On Tuesday, security operatives in Katsina foiled an attack by armed bandits in Saburu Billiri Village, recovering a total of 117 rustled livestock, which included 43 cows and 74 sheep. The operation was initiated following credible intelligence regarding the impending attack.

The Division Police Office (DPO) in Charanchi swiftly mobilized a tactical police unit to collaborate with military forces and the Katsina State Community Watch Corp (KSCWC). As the joint security team pursued the fleeing suspects, they encountered a fierce gun battle, where their superior firepower led to the bandits abandoning the stolen livestock and fleeing into the surrounding bush.

Police spokesman Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu disclosed the recovery details and noted that efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects. The Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Umar Fage, commended the bravery and collaboration among the police, military, and community watch, emphasizing the commitment to protect lives and property across Katsina State.
