Katsina Security Team Recovers 117 Stolen Livestock

On June 30, 2026, a joint security operation involving the Katsina State Police Command and military members, along with the Katsina State Community Watch Corp, successfully foiled a cattle rustling attempt in Saburu Billiri Village, Charanchi Local Government Area. The operation was initiated following credible intelligence about armed bandits invading the village to steal livestock.

Upon mobilization, the security team engaged in a gun battle with the suspects, who ultimately fled the scene due to superior firepower. The operation resulted in the recovery of 117 stolen animals, comprising 43 cows and 74 sheep.

DSP Abubakar Sadiq confirmed that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects. CP Aliyu Umar Fage commended the operation's success and reaffirmed the command's commitment to tackling criminal activities across the state, urging the public to remain vigilant and support the police with timely information on suspicious activities.
