Umo Eno Urges Peaceful Elections in Akwa Ibom State

Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno issued a stern warning to politicians and their supporters against inciting violence during election campaigns. Speaking in Uyo at a “Violence-Free Election” seminar organized by the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and the Akwa Ibom State Government, Eno stressed that political troublemakers would not be tolerated.

He emphasized the importance of a peaceful political environment where citizens can participate freely without fear of intimidation. Eno, represented by Deputy Senator Akon Eyakenyi, stated that elections should not lead to violence, hate speech, or bloodshed.

He urged political parties to view their opponents as fellow citizens rather than enemies and called for responsible leadership from political aspirants. Eno also appealed to the youth to reject being used as political thugs and highlighted the need for security agencies to collaborate effectively to prevent electoral violence.

He warned that anyone engaging in violent acts would face severe consequences.
