Governor Eno Calls for Peace in Akwa Ibom Ahead of Anniversary

During a worship service at Qua Iboe Church in Ewet Offot, Uyo, Governor Eno called on Akwa Ibom residents to sustain peace as the state prepares for its 39th anniversary thanksgiving on September 20. He expressed gratitude for the existing peace and urged citizens to avoid ethnic and tribal rhetoric that could jeopardize unity.

Governor Eno appealed to traditional institutions, religious organizations, political actors, and security agencies to collaborate in preserving the peaceful atmosphere, especially with the upcoming political season. He emphasized that peace is a shared responsibility and encouraged politicians to focus on issues rather than inflammatory rhetoric.

Additionally, he thanked the church for its contributions to the state's spiritual and social development. Rev. Ekpedeme Moffat, the General Superintendent of the Qua Iboe Church Conference, delivered a homily centered on gratitude, urging worshippers to acknowledge God's faithfulness and extend their blessings to the less privileged.
