ADC Bars Politicians Over 55 from Contesting for Office

Nafiu Bala, the factional chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated in an interview with BBC Hausa that the party will implement a policy prohibiting politicians aged 55 and above from contesting for office. This decision is part of Bala's vision to encourage greater youth participation in politics and to bring fresh ideas to the forefront of Nigerian governance.

He argued that older politicians have failed to address the central issues facing Nigeria at this critical time. Bala emphasized that the ADC is committed to empowering Nigerian youth by giving them the opportunity to run for office, thereby fostering a generational change in leadership within the party and the broader political landscape.
