Sokoto CP Urges Local Governments to Enhance Security

During a Nationwide Local Governments Security Workshop held at the Nigeria Police Force auditorium in Sokoto, CP Hayatu Hassan Shaffa called on local government chairmen to take a more proactive role in combating insecurity. He urged them to implement the workshop's recommendations in their areas and to maintain close communication with the police regarding security issues.

Shaffa highlighted the importance of monitoring vigilante groups and being vigilant about strangers in communities, especially in isolated areas vulnerable to bandit attacks. He stressed the necessity of community-based intelligence gathering to prevent attacks and protect lives.

Additionally, he emphasized the importance of security collaboration in preparation for the 2027 general elections, aiming for peaceful elections across the state. Hon. Abba Shehu, ALGON Chairman in Sokoto State, supported Shaffa's call for stronger collaboration between local governments and security agencies, noting their strategic position to enhance security efforts.
