Nollywood Special Effects Artist Dies in Film Set Explosion

Popular Nigerian special effects artist James Akaie passed away due to injuries sustained in a film set explosion in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The incident occurred during a movie session when an unexpected explosion took place in the area where effects were being prepared.

James Akaie, along with two assistants, was involved in unauthorized pyrotechnic activities. While James succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, the two assistants sustained fire burn injuries and were taken to a specialist hospital for treatment.
