Police Investigate Deaths of Film Crew Members in Lekki

On February 7, 2026, the Lagos State Police Command commenced an investigation into the deaths of two film crew members, Ekemini Imeh, a light technician, and Ayodeji Odediran, who were found unresponsive inside a vehicle at a medical facility in Lekki Phase 1. The duo had completed the installation of lighting equipment for a film production directed by Boma, a former Big Brother Naija housemate.

They were reportedly resting in the vehicle while awaiting the commencement of filming when food was delivered approximately 11 minutes before they were discovered lifeless roughly eight hours later. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) at Panti, Yaba, for further investigation and forensic examination.

Police sources indicated no immediate signs of violence at the scene, and reports suggest a sudden collapse. An autopsy and toxicology tests are expected to establish the exact cause of death, including potential environmental factors.

Family members of the deceased have called for a thorough and transparent investigation.
