Port Harcourt to Host 2026 NPBL Playoffs from August 29

Port Harcourt has been confirmed as the host city for the 2026 Nigeria Premier Basketball League playoffs, marking the fourth consecutive year for this event. The League Management Committee of the Nigeria Basketball Federation adjusted the schedule, moving the playoffs from the original dates of August 22–29 to the new dates of August 29 to September 6.

The playoffs will take place at the Basketball Stadium located at 59 Niger Street, Port Harcourt Township, Rivers State. NBBF Vice-President and League Chairman Babatunde Ogunade, along with Secretary-General Amina Amanchi, praised the qualifying teams for their professionalism and performances.

Under the revised schedule, teams are expected to arrive on August 29 for pre-tournament technical meetings, with competitive matches set to occur from August 30 to September 5. Teams will depart on September 6.

The tournament will feature eight teams in a round-robin format, including four qualifiers from the Atlantic Conference and four from the Savannah Conference.
