Kogi Leader Appeals to Mbah Over Power Outages in Enugu

Chief Anikw Joseph Andrew, an Igbo leader based in Kogi State, has formally appealed to Governor Peter Mbah for urgent assistance to address prolonged power outages impacting communities in Enugu State, specifically Ek Achara and Ezi Ukeh in the Igbo Etiti Local Government Area. In a letter dated June 25, 2026, Chief Anikw expressed concern over the breakdown of two transformers that has left the area without electricity since December 2025.

He noted that the situation has severely disrupted economic activities, with artisans and residents unable to earn a livelihood due to the lack of electricity. Chief Anikw emphasized the importance of adequate lighting in the community to deter criminal activities that threaten the safety of innocent citizens.

He commended Governor Mbah for maintaining peace in the state and advancing infrastructural development, assuring him of the loyalty and support of the people in Ukeh Ehi and the present administration.
