TCN Restores Shiroro-Mando Transmission Line 1

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) successfully restored the 330kV Shiroro-Mando transmission line 1 at approximately 3:27 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026. This restoration followed comprehensive repair work undertaken by TCN's engineers and significantly improves the bulk power supply to Kaduna, alleviating previous power supply constraints experienced in the region.

Meanwhile, repair work on the 330kV Shiroro-Mando transmission line 2 is ongoing due to unforeseen circumstances, with completion expected soon, which will further strengthen network redundancy and overall system reliability. TCN expressed appreciation for the patience and understanding of its customers and stakeholders throughout this period and remains firmly committed to delivering stable and efficient transmission services nationwide.

The announcement comes amid a backdrop of serious outages affecting Nigeria's power generation supply system, prompting the government to explore alternative energy sources, including solar power installations at the Presidential Villa.
