NSIB Reveals 23-Day Timeline for Abuja-Kaduna Train Accident Report

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) Director General, Capt Alex Badeh Jr, announced that a preliminary report on the Abuja-Kaduna train accident will be ready in 23 days. The press briefing confirmed 12 injuries from the derailment that occurred last week.

The NSIB urged the government to address funding gaps to enhance safety measures. The Incident Investigation Committee (IIC) is leading the probe with the Nigerian Railway Corporation and NLC.

Measures have been taken to secure the site and preserve critical data for the investigation. The final report is expected within 30 days of the incident.

The accident happened along the Kaduna corridor shortly after the train left Abuja.
