Presidency Warns Peter Obi Over Election Victory Claims

The Presidency has responded to Peter Obi's repeated claims of winning the 2023 presidential election, labeling his assertions as "political arrogance." Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, stated that Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), is living in a "political fantasy." Dare emphasized that Obi's claims are unfounded following the Supreme Court's final judgment that upheld Bola Tinubu's victory in the election. Obi, during an interview on Arise TV, maintained his belief that he won the election while expressing his readiness to accept the outcome of the 2027 presidential election if it is conducted fairly.

He stated, "I did, and I will maintain that as long as I live that I won the 2023 election," referencing issues he believes affected the election results. Obi was the Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023, and despite the Supreme Court ruling, he continues to assert that the election results did not reflect the true voting outcome.
