APC Challenges Peter Obi's 2023 Election Victory Claim

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to Peter Obi's assertion that he won the 2023 presidential election, urging him to prepare for another defeat in the upcoming 2027 election. Obi, who ran on the Labour Party (LP) platform, made his claim during an interview on Arise News, where he also criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration for its management of ₦16 trillion in savings from the removal of the fuel subsidy.

Despite the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declaring Tinubu the winner, Obi maintained that the election results did not reflect the actual voting. APC National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, through his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, questioned Obi's claim, highlighting that he lacked agents in many northern states and asking why INEC did not declare him the winner.

Tooki also defended the Tinubu administration's handling of fiscal matters and pointed to improvements in federal allocations and the absence of fuel queues as evidence of effective governance.
