Presidency Criticizes Peter Obi's Election Claims

The Presidency has condemned Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, for his assertion that he won the 2023 presidential election. In an interview on Arise TV, Obi stated he would only concede defeat in the 2027 election if it was credible.

Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, responded by accusing Obi of living in a "political fantasy" and failing to accept the Supreme Court's final judgment on the election dispute. Dare described Obi as "fat on ambition but drunk on political arrogance," emphasizing that Obi's claims are unrealistic.

He also dismissed Obi's suggestion that he could choose whether to concede in 2027, asserting that only the Nigerian people hold the power to vote. Dare expressed confidence that in 2027, voters would support President Tinubu, leaving no room for Obi's anticipated tactics.
