NIMS 2.0 Summit Set for October 2026 in Abuja

The Presidency and the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) have announced the National Industrial Manpower Summit (NIMS 2.0), set for October 15-16, 2026, at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja. The summit's theme is "Unlocking Nigeria's Human Capital for Industrial Transformation: Building Skills, Driving Innovation and Creating Prosperity." Hon. Adamson Oluwatoyin Ayinde, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Industrial Training and Development, stated that NIMS was established to develop a skilled workforce for Nigeria's industrial sector.

The inaugural summit in 2025 attracted over 2,500 delegates and resulted in significant policy recommendations. Ayinde revealed that over 250,000 small businesses received free training and registration, following directives from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The upcoming summit will focus on four priorities: workforce development reform, preparing talent for emerging technologies, converting skills into jobs, and establishing Nigeria as Africa's industrial talent hub. ITF Director-General Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun emphasized the initiative's focus on implementation and measurable impact.
