Chief of Staff Ibrahim Masari convened a meeting with key leaders from the National Assembly, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abba, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.

This meeting was prompted by several petitions received by President Bola Tinubu, alleging attempts by governors to hijack the APC primary elections and control the process within their states. Sources indicate that the meeting aimed to establish a consensus on conducting credible and transparent primaries among the aspirants.
