Tinubu Appoints Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi as DG

President Tinubu has appointed Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi as the Director-General of the National Centre for Women Development. This appointment is effective from April 18, 2026, and is in accordance with the provisions of Section 7(1)(3) of the amended National Centre for Women Development Act 2023.

The announcement was made through a letter signed by Georg Akum, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Government. The governing council of the Centre, chaired by Joan Jummai Idonij, includes members such as Loi Auta, Jamila Sarki, Aisha Baiye, Jumok Okoya Thoma, and Ann Agom Ez.

The statement issued by Chri Ugwuegbulam congratulated Benjamins-Laniyi on her appointment and expressed wishes for her success in the role.
