Tinubu Launches Wasa Infrastructure to Boost FCT Economy

On Friday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated the Wasa Infrastructure project to enhance the economy of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The project encompasses the construction of access roads, electricity, and water supply in the Wasa District, designed to support the informal sector and improve livelihoods.

During the inauguration, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of the informal sector in sustaining millions of livelihoods across Nigeria. He noted the successful relocation of traders from the congested Apo Mechanic Village to the new layout, which aims to provide a conducive business environment.

FCT Minister Mr. Nyesom Wike expressed confidence in the project, which was awarded in November 2025, and highlighted its role in fulfilling long-standing promises to the traders.

Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, the FCT Minister of State, mentioned that the completed access road would improve the surrounding communities and promote inclusive development across the territory.
