Tinubu to Approve Military Pay Rise for Armed Forces

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is preparing to approve an upward review of salaries for personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, as part of a renewed effort by the Federal Government to enhance troop welfare, improve morale, and bolster military readiness. This information was disclosed by the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd), during a one-day training and financial empowerment workshop for widows and wives of service personnel held in Abuja.

General Musa expressed confidence that President Tinubu would soon announce the salary increase, which is part of broader reforms recognizing the sacrifices of military personnel. The workshop, themed "Renewed Hope for Families of the Armed Forces of Nigeria Through Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development," emphasized the importance of economically stable families for military effectiveness.

The event also saw the SMEDAN Director-General, Mr. Charles Odii, announce the disbursement of ₦25 million to 500 beneficiaries to support small businesses.

The initiative aims to enhance financial literacy and economic resilience among military families.
