Presidential Aide Engages Benue Leaders on Security Issues

Dr. Abiodun Essiet, the senior special assistant to the presidency, commenced a three-day community dialogue in Benue State to address security and border issues.

This initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu's efforts to tackle ongoing security concerns and promote grassroots peacebuilding. During the visit, Essiet met with Deputy Governor Sam Od to discuss the security situation and the federal government's collaboration with the state to resolve boundary issues affecting local communities.

Essiet emphasized the importance of local participation in conflict resolution and improving cooperation on security and border management. He also visited Governor Hyacinth Alia, who welcomed the initiative and highlighted residents' concerns, including poor federal road conditions in the state.

Essiet's visit aimed to assess the security situation in various local government areas and promote dialogue among community leaders. This engagement comes amid ongoing security challenges and community tensions in Benue State.
