Anambra State Sets N50m Campaign Permit Fee for Elections

The Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) has introduced a new fee structure for campaign permits ahead of the 2027 general elections. During a press briefing on Friday at the agency's headquarters in Awka, Assistant General Manager Chika Ngobili disclosed that presidential candidates will be required to pay N50 million for outdoor campaign permits, while senatorial candidates will pay N20 million.

Candidates for the Anambra State House of Assembly will pay N5 million, local government chairmanship candidates will pay N2.5 million, and councillorship candidates will pay N100,000. The permit covers various campaign materials, including posters, public address systems, and branded vehicles.

Ngobili emphasized the need for political parties to adhere to the guidelines to ensure a professional and orderly campaign environment, warning against the destruction of opponents' campaign materials. ANSAA will monitor compliance throughout the campaign period, and violations will incur sanctions as per Anambra State law.
