PSC Declares Fake Medical Screening Announcement Fraudulent

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has issued a statement declaring a press release announcing medical screenings for police recruits, scheduled from July 16 to 22, 2026, as fraudulent. The statement, attributed to Torti Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Relations, was circulated on social media and falsely claimed to be from the PSC.

The PSC clarified that it had not issued any such communication and referred to the fraudulent release as the work of scammers. The commission held a stakeholders' meeting on July 9, 2026, attended by officials from the PSC, Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and the Ministry of Police Affairs.

An official statement regarding the recruitment exercise will be released following the meeting's outcomes. The PSC advised the public to await genuine information through verified platforms, including their website and social media channels, and warned that anyone found circulating fake press releases would face severe legal consequences.
