PSC Disowns Fake Police Recruitment Shortlist Online

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially disowned a purported police recruitment shortlist that has been circulating on social media. The PSC described the list as fake and urged members of the public to disregard it.

Torti Njoku Kalu, the Commissioner of the PSC, stated that there is currently no official shortlist for candidates in the ongoing recruitment exercise. The PSC clarified that the next stage of the recruitment process will involve medical examinations, and successful applicants will be notified via email through the official recruitment portal.

The PSC emphasized its commitment to a merit-based recruitment process, which is crucial for maintaining the quality of personnel in the Nigeria Police Force. Additionally, the PSC warned the public to be vigilant against fraudsters who may exploit the recruitment process and reiterated that all official communications regarding the ongoing recruitment will be disseminated solely through verified channels.

The recruitment of 50,000 police constables began in December 2025, following directives from President Bola Tinubu.
