PSC Disowns Fake Police Recruitment Shortlist Online

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially disowned a purported police recruitment shortlist that has been circulating on social media, describing it as fake. The PSC urged members of the public to disregard this misinformation and clarified that there is no official shortlist for candidates at this stage of the recruitment exercise.

Torti Njoku Kalu, the Commissioner, stated that the commission has not released any shortlist following the evaluation of written examinations. The next stage involves inviting successful applicants for medical examinations, and notifications will be sent via email through the recruitment portal.

The PSC reiterated its commitment to a merit-based recruitment process, emphasizing the importance of quality personnel in the police force. They also warned the public to be vigilant against fraudsters who may exploit the recruitment process and reiterated that all official communications regarding the ongoing recruitment exercise will be disseminated solely through the commission's verified channels.

The recruitment process aims to enlist 50,000 police constables, initiated in December 2025, following directives from President Bola Tinubu.
