Cooking Gas Price in Nigeria Falls by 21%: Relief for Consumers

The price of cooking gas per kg in Nigeria drops by 21% according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in August 2025 compared to July. Despite the decrease, prices are still higher than last year, showing a 21% increase from August 2024.

Yobe has the highest average refill price, while Benue records the lowest. The report also highlights price variations for different cylinder sizes across states, with Katsina having the highest average price for refills.

The drop in prices is expected to provide relief to consumers amid economic challenges.
