Lawyer Warns NDC Against Announcing Enugu Candidates

Aroh Chidozi Idoko, a lawyer representing members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued a warning to the party's national leadership against announcing any candidates from Enugu State. This warning comes in light of alleged irregularities during the primary elections conducted last week.

Idoko claims that no official primary election took place in the Nsukka and Igbo-Eze South Local Government Areas, as party officials were absent, preventing a valid election. He stated that aspirants later organized a separate exercise with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and relevant agencies, which was reportedly not recognized.

Idoko maintains that any attempt to announce candidates would face legal challenges, as the party allegedly plans to submit candidates despite the failure to conduct proper primaries. He has demanded an explanation from the party within 24 hours, threatening legal action if the demands are not met, including a refund of money allegedly paid by aspirants and sanctions against those responsible for the irregularities.
