Ayodele Urges INEC to Strengthen Tech for 2027 Elections

Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, issued a stern warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the upcoming 2027 general elections. He urged the commission to strengthen its technological infrastructure, particularly the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal, to ensure their effective operation throughout the election period.

Ayodele cautioned that any disruption in the electronic transmission of results could compromise the credibility of the elections and lead to disputes. He emphasized the importance of protecting INEC's servers from hacking and advised the commission to monitor its officials against financial inducements that could influence electoral integrity.

Ayodele identified specific states—Nasarawa, Niger, Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Yobe, Cross River, Oyo, Enugu, Adamawa, and Lagos—where he predicted potential electoral irregularities if adequate safeguards are not implemented. He called for training of INEC officials to prevent fraud and ensure a credible electoral process.
