Adeleke Urges Ballot Protection Ahead of Osun 2026 Election

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has called for the protection of the ballot ahead of the upcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. During a meeting with members of the Public Account Committee at the House of Representatives in Osogbo, Adeleke stressed the significance of credible elections as a fundamental democratic exercise.

He highlighted that the outcome of the Osun governorship election is crucial not only for the state but also as a precursor to the general elections in 2027. The governor urged political actors, electoral officials, and security agencies to collaborate to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process, which is essential for deepening democratic culture and maintaining public trust.

Adeleke also mentioned ongoing projects in various sectors, including health, education, and infrastructure, aimed at improving the living conditions of residents in Osun State. He noted the importance of addressing inherited financial obligations, including unpaid salaries and pension arrears from previous administrations.
