Sule: Routine Government Duties Not Achievements

During the 59th inaugural lecture at Nasarawa State University in Keffi, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State articulated that providing routine government services, such as paying salaries and building roads, should not be regarded as significant achievements. He urged public office holders to adopt innovative strategies to address persistent societal challenges.

Sule cited the example of recurrent market fires in the state, which prompted government intervention through financial relief ranging from 2 million to 10 million Naira to affected traders. He highlighted the construction of a modern market designed to prevent such incidents in the future.

Sule credited improvements in financial capacity partly to economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the importance of prudent resource management at the state level. Additionally, Ik Neliaku, from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, announced plans to establish the first world public relations leadership university in Nasarawa State, aiming to develop collaborations with global partners.
