Nigeria Customs Hands Over Seized Arms to NCCSALW, Generates N44.06bn in Revenue

The PTML Customs Command in Nigeria handed over seized arms and ammunition to the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) while also announcing revenue generation of N44.06 billion. The Customs Area Controller, Joe Anani, reiterated the agency's zero-tolerance for smuggling and commitment to ensuring legitimate trade within Nigeria's borders.

The seized items included pistols, rifles, live cartridges, and assorted ammunition. The handover ceremony, approved by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewal Adeniyi, highlighted sustained vigilance and collaboration with sister security agencies to combat unlawful trade.

The revenue performance of the PTML Command exceeded previous records, showcasing an 8.8% increase. The Customs Command emphasized the implementation of regulatory controls and revenue enhancement measures to balance trade facilitation and effective regulation.
