Orji Kalu Urges Unity Between APC Governors and Wike

Orji Uzor Kalu, the lawmaker representing the Abia North senatorial district, commented on the ongoing conflict between the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. The APC governors have rejected Wike's Rainbow Coalition, which aims to field candidates in various states, as it contradicts their political objectives.

Wike has stated his support for President Bola Tinubu, not the APC. Kalu expressed that if he were a governor, he would also resist the sponsorship of alternative candidates in his state, stating, "I cannot be a governor and you are sponsoring an alternative candidate in my state." He appealed to both parties to "pull back their swords" and work together for Tinubu's re-election in January 2027, emphasizing the need for unity and grassroots campaigning.
