NIS Arrests 12 in QNET/IGNITE Crime Syndicate Bust

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has dismantled a transnational organized crime syndicate associated with the QNET/IGNITE network, arresting 12 suspects, including the alleged leader, Ouattra Adama, a Burkinabe national. The operation, conducted in Lagos State, was based on actionable intelligence regarding a trafficking syndicate.

The arrested individuals include eight Liberians and three Cameroonians, who are suspected facilitators of the syndicate. Additionally, two Liberian nationals were rescued as victims of the syndicate's activities.

Following the arrests, the suspects and victims were transferred to the NIS Headquarters for further investigation and legal action. The NIS emphasized the importance of verifying employment and migration offers to prevent exploitation.

This operation underscores the NIS's commitment to intelligence-driven border management and aligns with the agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to combat irregular migration and organized crime. Investigations are ongoing to identify other members of the network and additional victims across Nigeria.
