Radda Advocates Youth Entrepreneurship to Combat Insecurity

On 12 September 2026, Katsina State Governor Dikko Umar Radda addressed the fourth CEOs Round Table Summit and Exhibition, organized by the Initiative of Innovative Youthpreneurs Sustainable Development. He stated that expanding entrepreneurship among youth is crucial for reducing idleness and social pressures that contribute to insecurity in the state.

Radda urged young people and women to develop necessary skills and markets to turn ideas into sustainable businesses, emphasizing that access to finance alone is insufficient for success. He assured support for entrepreneurs meeting the requirements, particularly women.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle, reported that over 800 young people benefited from the Songhai training program, receiving start-up capital and grants. Additionally, 700 youths are currently undergoing skills acquisition training.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Aisha Aminu Abdullahi Malumfash, announced an upcoming exhibition for over 4,000 women showcasing their businesses. The initiative aligns with the broader development program outlined by Radda, which supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
