Katsina Governor and DSS DG Call for Security Collaboration

On Thursday, Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Oluwatosin Ajayi, emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among security agencies, government institutions, and communities to address terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities threatening North-West Nigeria. This call was made during the second North-West Zonal Conference of State Directors of Security, organized by the DSS under the theme “Unite Against Terror.” Radda, represented by his deputy, Malam Faruk Jobe, highlighted that Katsina had seen significant improvements in security through combined kinetic and non-kinetic measures, stating that the state had transitioned from persistent attacks in 26 local government areas to improved stability.

He mentioned investments in non-kinetic measures, including free medical care for victims of banditry and prioritizing agriculture. Radda urged for responsible media reporting and community intelligence to enhance security efforts.

Ajayi echoed the call for a united approach among security stakeholders to tackle the evolving security situation in the region.
