Yobe Storm Claims Three Lives, Destroys Properties

A severe rainstorm and windstorm in Yobe occurred overnight, leading to the deaths of at least three people and causing extensive damage to homes and properties, estimated to be worth millions of naira. Eyewitness Bukar Adamu reported that many residents were injured and hundreds were displaced, seeking refuge in public buildings.

Mustapha Modu described the destruction of homes, shops, and market stalls, highlighting the difficult situation faced by victims. Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and widespread destruction, extending condolences to the bereaved families and praying for the deceased.

He emphasized the significant setback to the community's infrastructure and livelihoods. The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA) has begun assessing the affected areas to determine the extent of the damage and to facilitate appropriate relief efforts for the victims.
